Each loop below is one of the principles of animation we apply to every frame, with the kind of project we last used it on.

  • Squash & stretch

    Gives weight. A ball that keeps its shape looks like it's made of glass.

    A small move backwards tells you a big move forwards is coming.

    When the body stops, the loose parts keep going for a beat.

    Living things move in curves. Straight lines read as machines.

    Objects need a moment to get going and a moment to stop.

  • Overlapping action

    Parts of one move start at different times, so it never looks stiff.
